Not at all. It’s a common misconception that hypnosis will make someone lose control or do something they don’t want to do. However, this is not the case. Hypnosis is a natural state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness that allows access to the subconscious mind where your eating habits exists.

There are now plenty of studies that show online hypnotherapy is just as effective as face to face. You can now participate in your weight loss program from the comfort of your own home, which can help reduce anxiety and increase convenience. You will also be provided with resources and support through email and video calls to help you stay on track with your weight loss goals.

Why The Attempts To Lose Weight In The Past Failed You (Long Term)

It’s highly unlikely that this is the first (or even the 10th) attempt at trying to achieve your weight loss goal.

Through our experience, we have recognised that most clients more often than not know what they “should” be doing to lose weight. There are however many reasons why people may struggle to achieve their goals despite looking online, reading diet books, health retreats, or listening to health and wellness podcasts.

The most common reason is that they are held back by limiting  beliefs that are rooted in their subconscious mind. Limiting beliefs are dis-empowering stories that we tell ourselves about who we are, our relationship with food, fitness and overall health.

 What most therapeutic techniques and  therapists seek to accomplish, is to identify all of these subconscious limiting beliefs and then attempt to change them consciously. This is an unsuccessful strategy for three reasons:

1. It can take years, if not a lifetime, to identify ALL of the subconscious limiting beliefs one has which stops them from losing weight.

2. Knowing “why” one thinks, acts, and feels the way they do doesn’t lead to natural change. In fact, it often makes someone feel worse because they’ve had to bring up negative aspects of the past (you won’t need to dig up a painful past in your sessions with us).

3. Making a change at a conscious level has a low success rate because it requires someone to repeat an action that goes against their “current nature” for a long period of time. 

For example, if someone consciously wants to achieve a healthier body, but subconsciously they have multiple beliefs about their capability of achieving this sustainably; Deciding consciously to go to the gym and eat healthier may be a huge struggle because they are having to consistently take actions everyday that goes against their current identity.

Why hypnotherapy is so effective For Weight Loss

One of the reasons that Hypnotherapy can be effective is that it can help to bypass the critical, conscious mind, which can sometimes be a barrier to change. When a person is in a state of hypnosis, their conscious mind is less active, allowing suggestions to be made directly to the unconscious mind, which can then be acted upon. This can make it easier to change patterns of thought and behavior that are deeply ingrained or difficult to change through conscious effort alone.
